A Thorough Examination of Phishing Methods and Countermeasures
- Phishing attacks use fake e-mails that appear to come from genuine organizations or look-alike fake websites to steal credit card numbers or personal identification numbers from Internet users. The number of its victims is increasing rapidly in Japan, too. It has become an enormous problem affecting all those connected to the Internet. Which specific measures can and should be taken? This article outlines the methods used in phishing scams and explains measures that can be taken against them by users, network administrators, website providers, and other potential victims.
