Giving users a value that no one has ever seen before, or experienced before. One of the roles of design lies in giving this type of experience value. What becomes necessary at that point is a fusion of new technology and design. Various leading edge technologies are being created and new materials developed in order to add new functions or value to a product, or achieve an improvement in production efficiency. Design possibilities also expand with the birth of new technologies and materials. Plus, design has the role of getting across the functions and values created by new technologies and materials, and there is a demand for new designs that are not available in existing products. What are the ways in which new technologies and materials expand design possibilities, and what type of design is sought after? We would like to consider to the broadening of design through materials and technology.
