In Japan, Taiwan, and Korea, wireless broadband services using mobile WiMAX technologies have begun to blossom.  Korea already launched a commercial service called "WiBro" in 2006.  Taiwan and Japan will have selected carriers in 2007 and will start to offer commercial services as early as 2008.  This article investigates the latest situation of mobile WiMAX in East Asia that attracts attention from across the world.
