The Collapse of Data Quality

 

From the problem of the 50 million pension records that disappeared from the Social Insurance Agency, to over and under-payments by life insurers and non-life insurers and huge mistakes in orders for securities, degraded quality data has been causing all sorts of problems in corporate systems. Aside from looking at the structure of this problem with quality degradation, we also delved into the approaches by companies such as JAL, Canon, the Kirin Group and Noritz, which have been working towards maintaining and improving data quality so as to avoid trouble.

NTT DoCoMo vs. KDDI vs. Softbank Mobile -Three Implementation Approaches for Avoiding Breakdowns in Email Infrastructure

 

We compared the email infrastructure of the 3 big players in mobile phones. They all have the objective of avoiding breakdowns in common, but the three companies have three different approaches to implementing this. NTT DoCoMo does not use generally available products but developed its own software independently. KDDI has introduced fault-tolerant servers into its core. Softbank Mobile continues its past pattern of using standard products that conform to international specifications, but that are independently extended for the domestic market.
