Cover Story 1
"One-segment service," launched out of undercooked discussion, holds
potential "bombs" for pressed cellular operators
On April 1, mobile terrestrial digital broadcasting, or the "one-segment
service", was formally started. With the good turnout in the sales
of terminals, the service surely seems to be a big hit. Cellular operators,
however, cannot envision any full business models yet, which strongly indicates
that the launch has an aspect of premature decision.
