Something unusual is happening in the fixed telephony market. Only NTT Communications is substantially increasing the number of “My Line” contracts. Driven from the fixed telephony market, competitors are increasingly shifting their focus onto the direct-subscription type of fixed telephony services and/or IP telephony services.
In the very market, however, NTT East and NTT West, which have just completed a full lineup of their optical IP telephony services, are about to launch a full-scale offensive.
