TOKYO GAME SHOW 2005 COMING ON SHOW

Tokyo -- February 23, 2005 -- The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA, Chairman: Kenzo Tsujimoto) and Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. (President & CEO: Yukoh Kawamura) are pleased to announce the holding of TOKYO GAME SHOW 2005 at the Nippon Convention Center (Makuhari Messe, Chiba City) from September 16 (Fri.) through to 18 (Sun.), 2005.

Together with the development of the gaming industry, TOKYO GAME SHOW has evolved to become the world's premier computer entertainment show since it was first held in 1996. Last year's show saw a significant increase in the number of visitors: To be specific, the number of visitors to the Kid's Area saw a 130% rise from the previous year, which resulted to receiving 10,000 more visitors to the 2004 show, reaching a total of 160,096 for general admission days. This total turnout ranked into the third-largest number of visitors in the history of TOKYO GAME SHOW. In addition, the number of exhibitors and international press has been logging record-high numbers for two consecutive years. This year, TOKYO GAME SHOW 2005 will be celebrating its 15th anniversary. To solicit 130 exhibitors in 1,500 booth units and more than 150,000 visitors, we plan to employ new approaches to make the TOKYO GAME SHOW even more exciting.To provide hands-on experience so that visitors can feel the cutting-edge computer entertainment, plans are underway to create an area for mobile contents as well as holding events featuring online games. For the sake of luring more kids and family visitors, we plan to further improve plans to promote the Kids' Area.
On the business day, TOKYO GAME SHOW 2004 received many overseas visitors from 22 countries and regions, mainly from Asia. To further promote the global aspect of the show, we will continue our endeavor to solicit even more visitors and exhibitors from abroad as well as expanding media exposure of TOKYO GAME SHOW 2005.

Next-generation video gaming software is also expected to debut at TOKYO GAME SHOW 2005. CESA and Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. will jointly make the TOKYO GAME SHOW not only an event providing the latest information on computer entertainment, but also an event providing excitement, hope, and dreams for the people around the world.
