Nikkei BP Holds 。ネIT Executive Forum IT Japan 2007。ノ to Stimulate IT Power in Japan

Tokyo – May 23, 2007 – Nikkei Business Publications (President & CEO: Seiichi Oteru; Tokyo) has announced holding of IT Executive Forum IT Japan 2007, a conference to discuss business solutions and innovations to promote IT power in the country, on July 9 10, and 11 at Hotel New Otani Tokyo.

 

The Forum has been held since 2002 to promote discussion between corporate managers and top executives of IT companies on how to utilize IT and enhance competitive standing while carrying out structural reforms.  Management and IT now inseparable, the event is highly received and supported by many as an opportunity to explore business solutions and innovation.

 

Steering toward Business Expansion

In this three-day forum, we will discuss how to use IT and bring out business innovation for the new stage of development – to promote management innovation, product development, and creation of new business.  24 notable speakers will be invited from leading Japanese and overseas IT companies, as well as companies actively pursuing management innovation.  Presented under the concept of 窶彜teering toward Business Expansion窶 this year, it will offer a unique opportunity to fully absorb the 窶彷uture of IT in Japan窶?

 

High-Quality Programs with 24 Speakers

The programs include keynote speeches by Mr. Kaoru Seto (President of Yamato Holdings), Mr. Hisashi Sakamaki (President of Canon Electronics), and Mr. Takashi Wachi (Chairman of Terumo), and special speeches by Mr. Yoshiharu Hoshino (President of Hoshino Resort), Mr. Koichi Nishikawa (President of Park 24), Mr. Takashi Sawada (Representative Director of Revamp), Mr. Ryozo Yoshikawa (Project Researcher, Manufacturing Management Research Center, the University of Tokyo), and Mr. Michio Naruto (Chairman of Toyota InfoTechnology Center).

 

There will also be presentations by 16 speakers from leading Japanese and overseas IT companies on how to stimulate business innovation using IT.

 

Also planned during the event are announcement of the grand prix of IT Japan Award 2007 and a commemorative presentation by one of the winners.

IT has grown from a means used by a handful of experts for streamlining and laborsaving to an important tool to realize business innovation.  Today, many companies are using IT for more progressive purposes of improving customer service and creating new business models.

 

IT Japan Award aims to let more people know about the potentials of IT, by discovering excellent information systems and introducing them to the world.  Awards are given to companies, organizations, and individuals that have built an outstanding information system and made remarkable achievements.

 

The announcement of the winners and awarding ceremony will take place on the first day (July 9) of IT Japan 2007.  There will also be a special presentation by a winner.  On the second and third days of the event (July 10 and 11), we plan to set up an exhibition space in the lobby to honor the winners.
