Nikkei BP Starts a New Portal Site to Provide Trend Infomation

Tokyo – July 30, 2007 – Nikkei Business Publications (President & CEO: Seiichi Oteru; Tokyo) will open <nikkei TRENDYnet> (http://trendy. nikkeibp.co.jp/）, a portal site on trend information for business people, on October 23.

The site, launched in cooperation with Nikkei Home Publishing (President: Takao Kaneko; Tokyo), aims to provide extensive information useful for both work and private life, covering topics in life, digital, entertainment, and health.

- The editorial team of <nikkei TRENDYnet> consisting of writers of Nikkei BP and Nikkei Home Publishing will create high-quality content, utilizing the rich editorial resources of the two companies. The content will include news of the day, analyses of hot products and services, features highlighting product / service trends, various rankings, and columns by popular columnists. The site will also be joined by the editorial teams of Nikkei Home Publishing including Nikkei Trendy and otona-no off as well as the editorial teams of lifestyle / digital-related magazines and websites of Nikkei BP, to bring out maximum cross-media effect.

- In addition to the content created by the editorial team, the site will offer participatory services using a CGM-like (consumer generated media) approach and information service for cell phones. It will also link up with blogs and publish an email newsletter.

- Working together with Nikkei BP’s B-to-B sites, <nikkei TRENDYnet> will try to reach information-sensitive users. It will also be an effective online advertising media that enables widespread announcements and deep approach to the right target.
