Nikkei BP to launch "IR Brand Survey"
Tokyo -- January 16, 2002 -- Nikkei Business Publications has announced to
launch "IR Brand Survey" with the aim of unveiling how current and future
individual investors evaluate IR websites. Although there are similar surveys,
Nikkei BP's IR Brand Survey is characterized by the emphasis placed on the
viewpoint of users, in which case are the investors, rather than of website
producers.
IR brand is a form of corporate brand. In fact, it is an evaluation of a company by
the investors based on IR information. With the number of individual investors
growing in recent years, importance of the IR brand concept has also been
increasing for the companies to attract loyal investors. Today, more and more
individual investors rely on IR websites to make their own valuation of an
enterprise, as opposed to depending on professional analysts as the main source
for their decision-making.
IR Brand Survey will ask how often individual investors access IR websites,
what they expect to see there, and the level of their satisfaction. It will also ask
questions about how often they use the Internet to collect information, in
comparison with traditional media such as financial magazines, newspapers and
TVs. This survey will also aim to uncover the influence of IR website evaluation
on stock price.
Nikkei BP is presently inviting companies to participate in the IR Brand Survey.
This survey is to be carried out three times a year, in January, April and July,
among 3,000 monitors. A report will be published after each survey, available at
450,000 yen each. The price of an annual contract will be 1,200,000 yen.
