Nikkei Nanotechnology to Launch a Premium Online Newsletter Service

Tokyo -- June 11, 2003 -- Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. has today introduced the renewed Nikkei Nanotechnology website (http://nano.nikkeibp.co.jp) and announced the publication of a premium online PDF newsletter entitled "Nikkei Nanotechnology Inside eReport" in September.

With greater ease of navigation and expanded coverage, Nikkei Nanotechnology aims to embrace a wider audience across the nanotech industry and better fulfill its mission of playing a pivotal role in fostering a new industry. As part of its renewal package, Nikkei Nanotechnology has just test-published a free pre-launch newsletter before the actual launch of a premium PDF newsletter on September 22. The newsletter is focused on providing exclusive information to corporate managers charged with technological management as well as to those at research institutions.

Nikkei Nanotechnology was launched back in October 2001 to provide the latest information on nanotechnology from an industry perspective. The registration-required Nikkei Nanotechnology website has 25 million registrants and receives maximum daily page views exceeding 10,000.

An online news site covering nanotechnology information emerging both inside and outside Japan. Contents that can be viewed free of charge include: excerpts of flash news articles from Nanotch Pro, daily updates of overseas news clippings from Mondays to Fridays, Corporate PR information where companies can post their PR information at a fee, and "Academic Plaza" where universities and public research institutions post their information at no charge.

Nikkei Nanotechnology Inside eReport
An online newsletter in a PDF version. Provide managers with dedicated information conducive to R&D, establishing IP strategies, utilization of public facilities and funds, joining hands with overseas companies and research labs. By capitalizing on the unique properties of electronic newsletter, eReport enables subscribers to listen and view video/audio, and jump to related links. Published on the second and fourth Mondays. Comes in around 16 pages, in a landscape A4 adjustable to the size of a PC screen. Yearly subscriptions to Nikkei Nanotechnology Inside eReport are now available at 98,000 yen (tax inclusive). A free-subscription prototype newsletter was test-published today.

Nikkei Nanotechnology Nanotech Pro
An online flash news service focused on the provision of breaking nanotech news. Nanotechnology Inside eReport subscribers are also provided with the IDs required to read the full contents of the daily updated news. Additional IDs are obtainable at up to 9 IDs per Nanotechnology Inside eReport subscriber at 12,000 yen (tax inclusive). Those who work at universities, public research institutions and public offices will be able to subscribe to NanotechPro as a single service. Annual subscription to this service is 12,000 yen per an ID.

Nikkei Nanotechnology nanoletter
A weekly e-mail news service carrying weekly flash news titles that were covered by NanotechPro, table of contents of the latest Inside eReport and others. Published every Friday night, free subscription.
