Shiseido Wins the Best Ad Award in the Seventh "NikkeiBP Advertising Awards"


Tokyo -- March 14, 2001 -- Nikkei Business Publications has selected the winners of the seventh annual "NikkeiBP Advertising Awards" with the aim of recognizing outstanding advertisements placed in NikkeiBP's magazines during year 2000. The judging committee, comprised of Chairman Akihiro Kamei, Waseda University Professor, and fourteen other members, screened over 48,000 ad pages placed by nearly 6,000 advertisers. The screening reflected the opinions of NikkeiBP subscribers by taking into account both the number of business reply cards that each advertisement received and the results of ad impact researches.

This year, the Best Ad Award went to Shiseido for its series advertisement carried in NIKKEI BUSINESS throughout the year under the theme of "The Shiseido Global Way." Second-place awards were presented to Kagome for its ad in NIKKEI RESTAURANTS and to Pfizer for its ad in NIKKEI MEDICAL.

The NikkeiBP Advertising Awards was first introduced in 1995 for the purpose of contributing to the development of business-to-business advertising. Including those presented by each NikkeiBP magazine, this year's awards were presented to fifty-two advertisements placed by forty-four advertisers. The commendation ceremony will take place on April 25 at Hotel New Otani in Tokyo.
