"BizTech Press" to Carry IT Press Releases
NikkeiBP and its parent company, Nihon Keizai Shimbun, have embarked on a joint effort to collect press releases from Japanese companies for posting on their respective Web sites. This is the first time for a leading media company in Japan to establish a Web site for collecting and posting press releases. Access to these press releases is free of charge.
NikkeiBP will open a new section by the name of "BizTech Press" http://press.nikkeibp.co.jp/ in its renowned "BizTech" news site. The press releases to appear in BizTech Press will mainly be those issued in the IT field. Releases will be posted basically on the same day that they were issued and basically in their original forms. In order to have their press releases posted, companies must first register themselves with the Nikkei Release Center, which is a jointly operated press release collection Web site of NikkeiBP and Nihon Keizai Shimbun. Registration is free but the Nikkei Release Center will initially be open only to listed companies. BizTech Press presently accepts press releases in Japanese language only.
Two NikkeiBP Books Translated into Korean
Two books compiled by NikkeiBP's Technology Research Department were published in the Korean language this past May. The objective was to introduce Japan's emerging animation business to Korean people engaged in broadcasting and content businesses, and to contribute to the development of Korea's animation industry. The two books are "Anime Bijinesu ga Kawaru (=Animation Business Will Change)" and "Shinka-suru Anime Bijinesu (=Evolution of the Animation Business)." The former, published originally in Japan in June 1999, explains how character animation business has grown in Japan to the extent of shoring up the economy. The latter, published in September 2000 in Japan, provides analytical reports on how Japanese character animation is being accepted by overseas markets.
It was a producer at Animation Dept, Seoul Broadcasting System Productions, who proposed and actually translated the two books into Korean. The Korean editions were published by Hanul Publishing Company and the initial print run for each was 3,000 copies.
