"Restaurant Wedding" Mook to Become Half-Yearly
In response to the favorable responses from its readers and a growing popularity of holding wedding ceremonies at restaurants, Nikkei BP's "Restaurant Wedding" mook has changed its frequency from annual to half-yearly in year 2001. This glossy mook is aimed at guiding couples-to-wed with tips on how to hold wedding ceremonies and receptions at restaurants in the metropolitan Tokyo area. Making its debut in March 1997, Restaurant Wedding was the first mook to specialize on the theme of holding weddings at restaurants.
The results of a questionnaire survey conducted among past issue readers show that the ambience of the venue is the most important when selecting the restaurant for holding a wedding reception. Restaurant Wedding 2001-2002 hit bookstores in June 2001, featuring a complete guide to selected 124 restaurants with abundant color photographs. To be published in November 2001, Restaurant Wedding 2002 will carry plentiful information on wedding gowns, jewelries and bouquets, and is expected to have a circulation of 50,000. A four-color-full-page ad is available at 800,000 yen.
Attendees Express High Satisfaction with "Executive's Seminar"
This year again, Nikkei BP hosted a two-day "Executive's Seminar" in July at Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Chinzanso. Titled "Requirements of an Executive in the 21st Century," the seminar covered corporate governance on the first day and IT on the second day, gaining the attendance of approximately 100 top and middle managers of Japanese companies.
A questionnaire survey was conducted at the closing of the seminar, whose results revealed high satisfactions of the seminar attendees with 45% responding that the seminar was "very good" and 50% "good." There were also many who commented how strongly they were impressed by Shinsei Bank Chairman & President Masamoto Yashiro's speech about how company executives should consider increasing profit or developing the company rather than be occupied with macroscopic views. Other speakers were Teijin President Shosaku Yasui, Attorney Shigekazu Torikai, Keio University Professor Jiro Kokuryo and Horiba President Atsushi Horiba.
Nikkei BP hopes to make this seminar for top business executives in Japan an annual event.
