Nikkei Business English Website Debuts
Tokyo -- November 6, 2001 -- Nikkei Business, the flagship general business
magazine of Nikkei Business Publications, has launched its English-language
website today. This website (http://nb.nikkeibp.co.jp/eng) will be
the first website to be operated by Nikkei Business in a language other than
Japanese.
The site features the table of contents and one article from the latest issue of
Nikkei Business. It will also introduce an opinion poll of Nikkei Business
subscribers on current topics and events as well as offer access to advertising
information. Posting of editorial content has started with the November 5 issue
and the website will be updated as new issues come out. The website requires
no registration and is free for anyone to access.
The purpose of this site is to give a better understanding of what is in Nikkei
Business to non-Japanese speakers. To this end, a plan is in place to enhance
introduction of more editorial content in English in the future.
Nikkei Business is Japan's number one business weekly with a circulation of
344,321 (ABC / January-June 2001). First launched in October 1969, the
magazine targets the top and middle managers in Japan, providing information
that is instrumental in managing their companies and operating their businesses.
It covers macroeconomic movements that affect the management environment as
well as the management philosophy, the basic strategies, the organization and the
methodologies of new product development, production and marketing & sales
at various different companies from a variety of perspectives.
