Expanding Applications for MPEG-2 Encoder IC
Applications for MPEG-2 encoder ICs are currently limited to system encoders: broadcasting stations, and studios producing movie and image software. The IC manufacturers hope that single chip products and lower prices will expand applications to include MPEG-2 encoding PC boards and home video recorders.
