Nikkei BP to Hold Africa-Japan Business Investment Forum on September 1-2, 2015

Tokyo – July 13, 2015 – Nikkei Business Publications (President & CEO: Kohei Osada; Tokyo) and UK’s IC Publications based in London will jointly organize the two-day business event “Africa-Japan Business Investment Forum 2015” in Ethiopia’s Addis Ababa on this September 1 and 2 for stimulating “business innovation in Africa”.

Since the Fifth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD V) in 2013, Nikkei BP has been providing in-depth news on business and investment in Africa through the Nikkei Business magazine and other media featuring stories on African nations and hosting seminars on doing business with African partners.

In June 2014, Nikkei BP planned and managed “Africa-Japan Business Investment Forum 2014” hosted by Africa Development Bank and African Diplomatic Corps, with cooperation from related Japanese government authorities. The event brought together a total of 1,221 participants, including 225 from African countries.

Following this success, “Africa-Japan Business Investment Forum 2015” will be held in Addis Ababa, the capital city of Ethiopia, where African Union and many United Nations development organizations set their bases. The event will provide an opportunity to discuss challenges and practical strategies for successful future through government-private partnerships between African countries and Japan.

Bringing together high-ranked government officials and renowned experts from various sectors, the two-day conference held under the theme of “Africa-Japan partnership for Business Innovation in Africa” will facilitate discussion on issues surrounding industrial advancement, finance/logistics, and agriculture/food value chains in Africa, among other topics.
